In order to conserve the global environment, we have been striving to reduce environmental impact and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the self-recovery capabilities of the Earth.
In order to realize a sustainable society, environmental impact needs to be reduced, and the self-recovery capabilities of the Earth need to be maintained as well as improved. As indicated in Ricoh’s Environmental Principles, established in 1992, we see that conservation of the global environment is as important as management activities, and we strive to reduce environmental impact in the fields of “energy conservation and global warming prevention,” “resource saving and recycling, “ and “contamination prevention.” In addition to the above, since the 1990’s we have been engaging in activities to conserve the forestry ecosystem. Furthermore, we established “Ricoh Group Biodiversity Policy” in 2009 and “Regulations of Ricoh Group Products Made of Wood” (the revised version of “Environmental Standards for Paper Product Procurement” established in 2003) in 2010 to reduce the adverse impact of our business activities on biodiversity. All of these activities are designed to improve the self-recovery capabilities of the global environment.
