Infomation Ricoh sponsors Playground of Life: Jellyfish Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan as a Partner Bringing brightvox 3D holographic signage and RICOH Interactive Whiteboard D8600 large-format touch displays

TOKYO, April 11, 2025 – Ricoh today announced it is sponsoring the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, opening on April 13, 2025, as a partner of the Thematic Project Signature Pavilion “Playground of Life: Jellyfish Pavilion” produced by Ms. Sachiko Nakajima. Ricoh's holographic signage “brightvox 3D” has been adopted as decoration for the theater stage on the first floor, while the large-format touch display RICOH Interactive Whiteboard D8600 is featured in the “the Playground of the Senses” on the second floor.

Brightvox 3D is a three-dimensional signage developed by a brightvox Inc., a hardware startup that emerged from Ricoh's TRIBUS new business accelerator program. Used for exhibitions, events, and spatial design, the system creates real-time holographic imagery. For the Jellyfish Pavilion, brightvox took on an unprecedented challenge in program development and direction — jellyfish holographic imagery calculated in real-time 3D that responds to spontaneous sounds and lights at the stage where live performances are constantly held, creating ethereal wavering motions and seeming to dance within the signage.

The RICOH Interactive Whiteboard D8600 is an 86-inch large-format touch display that offers a highly interactive experience. Visitors can use cards embedded with acoustic Augmented Reality (AR) technology to alter the background music and instrument sounds in real time. Other cards will trigger playful visual effects that appear on users' faces and bodies, encouraging spontaneous, creative engagement. The display also allows visitors to explore content from Future Earth Schools* around the world, connecting Pavilion experience with global learning environments that blend play and education.
