GR DIGITAL IV : About Hybrid AF system.

The camera adopts the hybrid AF system which combines the conventional CCD contrast AF, and external AF sensor. Through the hybrid AF system, AF focusing time will archive as short as approx. 0.2 seconds at the fastest, as much as half that of the GR DIGITAL III at the maximum.

For photography with full-press shutter release, only the external AF sensor is used for metering. This will make a shutter release faster for snap photography, and will also add focus accuracy.

The information on the distance measured by the external AF sensor can be displayed in the screen.
