[Question] How to set a limit to camera usage (camera lock).

Setting a password allows the camera lock to set a limit for camera operations. When the correct password is entered, the camera lock is released and then the camera can be used. The 4 options below are available for the camera lock.

Camera

You will be prompted to enter a password when the camera is turned on. The camera cannot be used until you enter the password. If it fails, the camera will turn off automatically.

Int. Memory

This option sets a limit to playback images in the internal memory. You will be prompted to enter a password password in the following cases.

Turning the camera on in the playback mode by pressing the Playback button
Changing to the playback mode

If the certification fails, [No file] message will be displayed and images cannot be played back.

Connecting the camera to a computer or a printer by using a USB cable

If the certification fails at USB connection, the camera will turn off automatically.

Formatting the internal memory

If the certification fails when formatting, the camera will return to the setup menu without formatting.

[Note] An SD card is inserted into the camera, this option will work the same as the [Camera] option.

SD WORM

No password is required when an SD WORM card is inserted.
If an SD card other than SD WORM cards is inserted, or if there is no card in the camera (the internal memory only), you will be prompted to enter a password when the camera is turned on.
If it fails, the camera will turn off automatically.

Menus

This option set a limit to setting changes of the camera. You will be prompted to enter a password in the following cases.

Pressing the MENU/OK button to display the menu
Pressing the ADJ./MEMO button to use the ADJ mode

Once the correct password is entered, even if you press the MENU/OK button or ADJ./MEMO button, password prompting is not displayed until the camera is turned off.
If the correct password is not entered, you are unable to go into Menu or ADJ. mode, then you cannot change the setting of the camera.
