As inaugural exhibitions of the new photo gallery RING CUBE, Ricoh presents:
Ricoh Photo Contest Exhibition
Photo Calendar Exhibition

Tokyo, Japan, October 2, 2008 Ricoh Co., Ltd. today (president and CEO: Shiro Kondo) announced the first exhibitions to be held at its new photography gallery RING CUBE, which will open in Tokyo's Ginza district on October 21, 2008 (Tuesday). The planned exhibitions are: the Ricoh Photo Contest Exhibition to be held October 21 (Tuesday) to November 10 (Monday), 2008, and the Photo Calendar Exhibition to be held November 13 (Thursday) to November 24 (Monday), 2008.

The Ricoh Photo Contest Exhibition presents winning entries from the Eighth Ricoh Photo Contest, which was open to entries from May 30 to August 29, 2008. The contest theme was: "Precious Things, Precious Moment." This will be the fourth time an exhibition of contest winners has been held; the 50 winners selected include the recipients of the Grand Prize and a number of other special awards.

The Photo Calendar Exhibition is being held for the first time to display photographs from the Ricoh Photo Calendars that have been created since 2007 using entries solicited from the general public each year. The exhibition will consist of the 2007, 2008, and 2009 calendars. The 2009 calendar was created using photographs selected from among the winning entries of the Eighth Ricoh Photo Contest.

The Ricoh website (URL below) will present the Ricoh Photo Contest winners beginning November 10 (Monday) and the 2009 calendar photographs beginning November 24 (Monday).

Following up on these two exhibitions, a variety of other RING CUBE exhibitions are planned as one part of Ricoh's Candid Photo Project, which supports and promotes the lighthearted enjoyment of photography.
