2001.12.4 updateThe tables below provides restrictions of Windows XP for Ricoh cameras that had been marketed prior to the Windows XP release. Also, when installing software or drivers, connecting the camera to the computer, or saving files, please do so as theadministrator. These functions might not work properly if you log on as another user.
|USB Driver||After inserting or removing the USB cable a number of times, it becomes impossible to establish a connection (without restarting the PC).||Before disconnecting the USB cable, be sure to click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the status area of your taskbar (typically in the bottom right corner of your screen). Select the camera from the list and click Stop. Windows will notify you when it is safe to remove the USB cable.|
|USB Driver||When I connect to my PC via the USB cable without inserting a SmartMedia card into the camera, the auto-playback window keeps popping up.||Please insert a SmartMedia card into your camera before connecting it to your PC.|
|RDC-7 Explorer Plug-In||When trying to open a file stored on the camera from within an application, an error message comes up indicating that there is no such file.||Using Explorer or from My Computer, copy the files from the camera to your hard drive, then use the application to open the copy.|
|RDC-7 Explorer Plug-In||When I copy files from the camera to my hard drive with Explorer or from My Computer, the transmission display does not appear.||It doesn't appear in Windows XP. After checking to make sure the files were copied correctly, continue with your next task.|
|PC browser function||Files recorded in Text mode or Motion Picture mode cannot be opened from the Image List.|
|RDC-i Explorer Plug-In||When I try to click on a Sound file on the camera from within Windows Media Player, it is forcibly shut down.||Using Explorer or from My Computer, copy the files from the camera to your hard drive, then use Windows Media Player to open the copy.|
|Signature file transfer||I want to use the signature transfer feature, but that option does not appear in the File menu.||In order for this feature to appear, you need to be logged in as the person who installed Windows on your system.|
