Employees of Ricoh UK Products Ltd. (RPL), a manufacturing subsidiary, are engaged in a variety of activities in compliance with the basic policies of the Ricoh Group's social contribution activities.

•Top-Up scheme(charity top-up support)

Under this program RPL supports employees' fund-raising activities, in which 55 people participated in 2007. For example, volunteers within the company obtained sponsorship from Ricoh to run in a half-marathon and donated the funds raised by completing the run to various charities. In total, £3,000 was offered as support this year. The funds are being used in local communities to support Shropshire Air Ambulance, to support for training facilities of guide dogs and construction of the Local Hospice.

•Cares scheme (local volunteer activities)

Since 2004, RPL employees have participated in volunteer activities in the Telford area organized by Business in the Community. This fiscal year, 20 employees helped to repair and refurbish the interior of run-down facilities for people with disabilities in cooperation with employees of neighboring companies and staff of local government organizations.

•Volunteer reading (reading to children)

Since 2002, RPL employees have also participated in reading to children under the Read Literacy Program, a volunteer program conducted by corporate employees at schools. Fifteen RPL employees have joined the program, having completed the necessary training. The program is carried out once a week and has been greatly welcomed by children as well as their teachers and parents.
